So, Halloween is tomorrow and you’re still looking for the perfect costume, right? Why not bring history to life with our costume suggestions!
Finding the right costume can be time consuming and stressful, but don’t worry, the summer staff at Nancy Island Historic Site have many great ideas ranging in theme from the War of 1812 to the historic flight of the Trail of the Caribou.
Costume #1: The figurehead of the HMS Nancy. Dressed as a lady of the present [1789] fashion, Nancy makes a great costume choice.
Costume #2: What could be better than dressing up as Lieutenant Miller Worsley, commander of the HMS Nancy?
Costume #3: Stand out as a Redcoat soldier of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment.
Costume #4: Remember the industry that led to the first community in what would later become Wasaga Beach by dressing up as a lumberjack.
Costume #5: Lastly, why not make an entrance as Mr. James Ayling, the pilot of the first successful transatlantic flight from mainland Canada to Heston, England.
Let us know in the comments if you chose one of these costumes for Halloween, past or present. You can also send us an email with a picture of your themed costume to nancyisland@wasagabeachpark.com
Happy Halloween!
