On April 22nd many people celebrated Earth Day in Canada and worldwide. However it is important to remember that Earth Day is more than just a single day and that our daily actions can make a difference.
The theme for this years’ campaign is “Trees for the Earth”. So it is fitting that the local Wasaga Beach Ganaraska Hiking Club is continuing their annual sale of trees. Planting trees is one of the easiest ways to fight climate change. Trees filter the air and the longer trees/forests grow and stay in place the more powerful they become.
Make sure to mark Saturday May 14th on your calendar as the Wasaga Beach Hiking Club will be selling trees at the Nordic/Trail Centre on Blueberry Trails. Time is 9am to 12pm. Selection of saplings – white pine, black walnut, high bush cranberry. Prices are under $4. Spread the word – everyone is welcome.
