Make sure your calendar is marked to visit Nancy Island Historic Site this weekend. Wasaga Under Siege is an event you won’t want to miss. You can experience life in 1812 by visiting British, American, and Native encampments. Participating groups include Royal Newfoundland Regiments, 22nd US Infantry, Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada, Royal Artillery 4th Battalion, Canadian Volunteers and On-gwe-ho-way. British Naval groups include HMS Nancy Gun Crew, HMS Moira Royal Navy, Penetanguishene Ship’s Company and Royal George Landing Party.

Re-enactors will transport you back to the War of 1812 through musket & cannon firing, 1812 cooking, fashion & surgeon demonstrations & Native drumming and storytelling. A 1812 mini militia, scavenger hunt and candy cannon make it a fun filled weekend that the whole family will enjoy. Also this year musical entertainment will be provided by the Zoon Daddys.

 

Daily admission is $5 per person with children 12 and under Free.  Event hours are Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday 10 am to 4 pm. Nancy Island Historic Site is located at 119 Mosley Street in Wasaga Beach.
